Joseph Pike Papers, 1864-1865

His four letters, written between March and December 1864, are to his family and describe a storm in camp, camp life, their location, the weather, a visit to his brother John and his winter quarters, and the battle of Chaffin's Farm. The collection also contains his oath of allegiance (1865) and an 1859 receipt for taxes.
